The Relationship Between Math and Technologies

The relationship between technology and math has a significant impact on students learning and performance in math classes. Thoughtful technology is a way to engage students in their learning process, provide personalized experiences and help diverse learners.

Mathematical hardware and software, such as graphing calculators, spreadsheets and dynamic geometry environments allow students to interact with math in an appealing, interactive and stimulating way. It also allows them to complete calculations quickly and effortlessly which would be difficult or time consuming using traditional pencil and paper methods. The software and hardware will help students gain a deeper understanding of concepts by helping them understand the processes involved and also allowing them to experiment with their understanding of mathematical principles through trial and trial and (Jeng and colleagues. 2010).

Students who utilize ICT to study math have an enthusiastic attitude toward the subject, and they have a better knowledge of mathematics. This is due to the fact ICT encourages students to experiment with new strategies and approaches which they aren’t likely to do using traditional methods. Additionally to this, the ICT can allow students to collaborate in ways that aren’t possible in a face-to- face setting, and this lets them develop an environment of friendship with other students who are eager to learn the same subjects.

There is evidence that technology can be effective in teaching math when it is used as a tool to teach other subjects like science and history. Students who utilize ICT to learn complex concepts from other subjects usually get a better understanding of those topics as well as the ability to apply that knowledge to real-world issues.
